Facelift (Rhytidectomy)
A facelift is a surgical procedure to improve signs of aging in the face and neck caused by stress, over-exposure to the sun, and the natural aging process. Areas that can be addressed include:
- Sagging of the face and jowl area
- Deep creases between the nose and mouth
- Fat that has fallen or is displaced
- Loss of muscle tone in the lower face
- Loose skin and excess fatty deposits under the chin and jaw
Someone considering a facelift might also be a good candidate for other facial rejuvenation procedures including brow lift, to correct a sagging or deeply furrowed brow, and eyelid surgery to refresh and rejuvenate tired looking or aging eyes, or a laser procedure to further reduce or minimize lines on the face that cannot be eliminated by a facelift procedure alone.
