GME Special Features
Uniqueness of GME from the Patient's Perspective
Global Medical Excellence (GME) is a limited liability Company organized under the laws of the state of California.
GME is dedicated to providing ACCESS to excellent surgical care: major and cosmetic surgeries across the globe in JCI accredited hospitals, at the lowest possible cost. All surgeries are performed by U.S. Board Certified (or its exact equivalent in a Western European context) doctors supervised by an Ethics and Quality Control Board chaired by leading surgeons. GME achieves these objectives while mitigating the identifiable risks associated with medical tourism.
This is what GME can do for you:
GME provides access to surgical care in the finest hospitals in India and in Lebanon. It deals only with JCI accredited hospitals (the highest accreditation possible), and with U.S. Board Certified surgeons or their strict equivalent as per metrics developed by GME. Should the quality of doctor available in the foreign hospital not be acceptable or preferred by the patient (s) for any reason, GME will schedule a visit by a U.S. surgeon, including well-known practitioners, to perform the specific surgery in India or in Lebanon. The doctor's visit will be scheduled well in advance so similarly situated patients are able to sign up.
GME provides access to surgical care for Americans and other foreign tourists while visiting Lebanon and India. All they need to do is call: One Number for All your Medicals (ONAM), or join GME online. They will be directed to our affiliated doctors, hospitals, clinics, pharmacies and laboratories in that country.
GME believes in real choices for cosmetic surgery patients while maintaining strict quality standards. A patient begins with a choice between domestic and foreign countries. Should the patient be unsatisfied with the doctor available in a given foreign country, GME will send a U.S. Board Certified surgeon to that country after securing a critical number of surgeries to make the trip by the doctor economically viable.
To use a domestic doctor, they will be able to pick a GME-affiliated cosmetic surgeon, or select the virtual exchange (MEDEX) option where GME-affiliated surgeons in the United States compete for the lowest cost for that surgery within the U.S.
GME provides travel package deals through GME TRAVEL for patients and those accompanying them. These packages include the medical portion, air travel, hotels and ground transportation. Patients and others traveling with them may elect to extend their stay for pleasure and family reasons. GME will accommodate this.
Fundamentally, GME is in the business of ARBITRAGING the costs, the quality and the timing of surgeries across the globe, starting with India and Lebanon, while mitigating practically all the risks in medical travel.
These are the risks identified and uniquely mitigated by GME (partially or totally)
Travel Risks: GME shares in the cost of purchasing the travel insurance it requires of all GME patients should the patient not be able to afford the full premium.
The Care in Medical Care: GME assigns a Care Manager to every patient so no one is left alone in a foreign country. This manager will arrange all transportation requirements that are medically related, will track the progress of the patient in the medical portion of the trip, will report regularly to GME on his/her progress, and will tend to their legitimate needs as well as the need of those accompanying the patient.
Language and Cultural Risks: All individuals associated with GME speak perfect English. Patients will receive a briefing on the country of destination. A total of ten languages are spoken by GME staff and officers.
Malpractice Risk: Patients will have insurance against doctor and hospital mistakes. The level will depend on the country and the hospital. The patients will be fully informed of the insurance details prior to the surgery.
Quality Risk: GME deals only with JCI-accredited hospitals (the highest international accreditation a hospital can receive), and with U.S. Board Certified surgeons or their strict equivalent in the Western European context.
Complications Risk: GME has contracts with carefully selected clinics in the U.S. for follow up care.
Delayed Surgery Risks: No patient is booked for overseas travel before every detail, including a firm date for the surgery, is attended to.
Uniqueness of GME from an Insurance Company perspective
GME warrants that it will reduce the costs of major surgeries by at least 50% (all costs inclusive with travel costs factored in) for any patient approved by his insurance company (and his employer) to have that surgery performed overseas.
GME will provide a Care Manager for every patient arriving in India or Lebanon for a major surgery. That Care Manger will speak fluent English, be well trained in hospitality, understand the basic medical needs of the patient, and be able to arrange for other legitimate needs of the patient to include extending the trip for tourist reasons.
GME deals only with JCI hospitals and with U.S. Board Certified doctors or their strict equivalent in a Western European standard. We believe that this quality level will reduce the need for follow-up after the surgery and will cut overall health care costs.
GME will provide exclusive rooms in the hospitals for the patients and will supervise to insure the best CARE.
All requisite insurance policies that a hospital and a surgeon are expected to carry will be examined and monitored by GME. GME will make sure that no patient is operated on without appropriate malpractice of hospital insurance.
GME will have a Quality Control and Ethics Board in every foreign country in which it operates to make sure that only the necessary procedures are performed and that an appropriate review is undertaken especially if complications arise. Preliminary reviews will go a long way toward identifying the source of any problem faced by a patient. The Board will be made up of prominent people from the medical, academic and business communities.
GME provides access to surgical care for Americans and other foreign tourists while visiting Lebanon and India. All they need to do is call: One Number for All your Medicals (ONAM), or join ONAM online. GME WILL GIVE ACCESS TO CARE FOR INSURANCE COMPANY CLIENTS WHO ARE TRAVELING TO INDIA OR LEBANON FOR PLEASURE, AND WHO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT OR BECOME ILL
GME provides investigative services for insurance companies who receive illegitimate or exaggerated bills from clients who had medical care overseas.
Because of our broad offering of surgeries GME allows for the coupling of surgeries. That is, for example a husband, who is planning a hip replacement could be accompanied by a spouse, a friend or family member who is planning a plastic surgery.
GME provides very aggressive travel pricing through its GME TRAVEL unit. This reduces further the total cost of the surgery.
